proforma invoice is not true invoice but its agreement/commitment to the
buyer for product details and costing applied.

So here the date of the proforma invoice is the date of the quotation,
not commercial invoice date. So we can not use invoice date to have
proforma date as said by Amit Parik. But we can have one more field on
invoice "Proforma date" which looks more efficient for invoice context.

Thanks Eric for pointing issue,
Mustufa

Title:
No invoice date in proforma invoice

Status in OpenERP Addons (modules):
  Opinion

Bug description:
System allows to generate a proforma invoice with no invoice date
  which is not correct.

Expected behavior when generating a proforma invoice :
1.- OE should insert by default the date of the date or
  2. OE should warn that no date is entered and not allow PI creation.

I think 2nd option is more suitable.
