The poller (spine) is running via cron. There are several other graphs already created in my cacti instance that were imported from an older redhat 7 machine. I mention this because I don't know if this cacti instance was *ever* able to create the RRD files. I imported all of the RRDs from the old server. Now we are attempting to add brand new devices to our network and the RRD files are not created.
The graphs that already exist (those imported) receive new data just fine; their graphs are updated at the polling cycle without issues. The new device doesn't get a graph though. Whatever the poller is supposed to do to create the RRD files fails despite having RWX permissions to the directory. I did what you suggested with the systemd service. I see the same results as with the cron job. I issued the command you suggested: /usr/local/spine/bin/spine -R -V 3 -S Here's the output: The new device (the one that cacti refuses to make a graph for) only has a single line logged: Total[2.9811] Device[663] INFO: SNMP Device '192.168.100.79:161' has a timeout of 500000 (500), with 3 retries Other devices that have graphs already show lots of lines with various SNMP v2 queries: Total[2.9837] Device[543] HT[1] DS[35899] TT[5.50] SNMP: v2: 192.168.100.20, dsname: traffic_in, oid: .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.10102, value: 29045975677 Total[2.9750] Device[533] HT[1] DS[35503] TT[6.22] SNMP: v2: 192.168.100.18, dsname: traffic_in, oid: .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.36, value: 79937013 etc... I can issue snmpwalk commands from my cacti machine to the device and receive output though. I'm not sure why the poller mentions a timeout. Could it have to do with different OID values on the new device? <https://www.google.com/url?q=https://onu.edu&source=gmail-html&ust=1674828335432000&usg=AOvVaw28_De1JtB-AXSBY3ffLqIg> <https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.instagram.com/ohionorthern/?hl%3Den&source=gmail-html&ust=1674828335432000&usg=AOvVaw2T5Mr7Skb1malhmRz_e6L7> <https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.facebook.com/OhioNorthern/&source=gmail-html&ust=1674828335432000&usg=AOvVaw3nAxUn3wIQnybVvpceEIDC> <https://www.google.com/url?q=https://twitter.com/ohionorthern?ref_src%3Dtwsrc%255Egoogle%257Ctwcamp%255Eserp%257Ctwgr%255Eauthor&source=gmail-html&ust=1674828335432000&usg=AOvVaw2gJCHRWcjlGtZi5ft71zQz> <https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvdGjbOWVUkVJZVm0l-px7g&source=gmail-html&ust=1674828335432000&usg=AOvVaw1nIUlB6-a3l6ENfFlK-WfL> *Jeremiah Garmatter* Linux Systems Administrator Office of Information Technology IT Building 107 419-772-1074 j-garmat...@onu.edu On Thu, Apr 11, 2024 at 8:05 PM Larry Adams <thewitn...@cacti.net> wrote: > Hi, > > Make sure you download, compile, install and test spine.
