Hi, Vincent,
Prior to answering your question, I'd like to tell you that Cactus
Thorns RC2 was just released on
http://www.iasandcb.pe.kr/2g/projects/cactus-thorns.html . In addition,
I read http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/1.5dev/todo.html and found that
Migrate from Stylebook to Velocity-Anakia.
->
Migrate from Stylebook to Velocity-DVSL.
.
Let me explain more details about CT plan: actually patches against
Cactus documentation build (systems and scripts) are not that difficult
because DVSL is fairly simple. However, patches against Cactus
documentation xdocs are really painful to me because DVSL's template
(site.dvsl) and that of stylebook (document2html.xsl) are pretty far. I
tried to make site.dvsl work the same as document2html.xsl, but got no
desired result.
Hence, I have two thoughts in mind: modifying all the xdocs to conform
the current(CT RC2) site.dvsl or rather modifying site.dvsl to conform
the current(Cactus original) xdocs. I hope I can get some advice or
opinion, and fortunately help from anyone interested in this issue. From
my experience, the fundamental mechanisms of both DVSL and XSLT have a
lot in common, but during mapping XSLT rules to DVSL macros, I met a
bunch of erratic situations which the mapping should have worked well
but in reality showed differently generated HTML pages.
Thanks in advance.
-IAS
