Hmm, I'm not sure if you understood. I didn't mean to create a branch; I was just 
thinking about a milestone release, marked by a tag. A branch would be 1.6-BRANCH, 
with a 1.6.2 release, for instance. Another think that would help would be the nightly 
builds (specially for testing those nasty JDK 1.5 issues).
