[snip] So far we've always released all the Cactus components together. I guess you are proposing to release them separately and that's why you're proposing this organization, is that it? I'm not sure that releasing the components separately would require breaking the project into several SVN modules. You can do that within a single SVN module. It has the advantage of keeping the whole project cohesive. Also it makes it simpler for anyone building the sources. Actually I think using svn-externals has its share of issues too and I would be more inclined to keep the structure proposed by Henri.
