:-)
A good point ! I have 3 answers to that ... :
1/ Technically there are already 3 committers : Rob Leland, Ted Husted and
myself. However, Rob and Ted are working on other subjects and helped me
initially to move Cactus to Jakarta. So we should not count on them to give
their voice (although they are more than welcomed to do it if they wish !)
2/ I intended to have everyone interested to vote (including non-commiters)
because you are right, there are not enough committers to be meaningful. So
I viewed this vote as rather informal compared to the voting guidelines of
Apache. Actually the goals of this process was twofold :
a - get opinions of cactus users and developers (whatever their status :
committers, non-committers, ...)
b - clearly explain the options we have for Cactus v2 and ideas of
implementation to everyone. I want anyone who has something to say to jump
in the discussion rather than forcing the solution onto everyone. Hey I'd
like this to be a collaborative work ... !
3/ Of course I'd like to bring in reinforcement ... Does it mean you would
be willing to become an active committer ... ? If so, that would be with
pleasure ... Also, we are in the process of making Jari Worsley a committer
(it's just that the guys with the permissions to do so seem to be very busy
on other things so it takes time ... :( ).
