authentication to webserver

Hi,

I want to use cactus to test a struts action object that
request.getUserPrincipal() is called in the struts Action.perform
method.
I think I need to have the client-side cactus test case to
authenticate itself to the webserver before the webserver loads the
server-side cactus test case. But I do not see where cactus provides
the authentication classes for test case writers to use.
Am I missing something?
