I agree with Jim : if we have to distribute tgz files, then we'll have to
distribute both zips and tgz. Are zip files a problem on unix ? I thought
that now all unixes had unzip installed by default ? Anyway, I've noticed
that most other jakarta projectd were distributing tar.gz files in addition
to zips, so there might be a good reason for that .... :)

Some are also signing the jars and others are also distributing rpms.

I guess we'll have to do that too ...
