What do we all want the Cafe to be?
E.J. Jewell has raised the question on the discussion focus in the Cafe.
AndorraWeb was born to make contact between people interested about Andorra
and provide resource related to Andorra. It has now grown up and it has to
be whatever we collectively want. Please, have your say!
There are two options that come to mind:
1/ having only one discussion list (the Cafe)
- or -
2/ having two lists, one for the topics of interest to people living in
Andorra and one for people living elsewhere.
Please, give your opinion (before Wednesday 24 March) to my email
[EMAIL PROTECTED] . I'll compile the opinions, translate them and post
them
back to the Cafe. Or alternatively you can send them directly to the Cafe.
Personally, Ester and I, prefer only one list. Nevertheless, we will do
whatever we collectively decide as friends of the Cafe.

Some messages may interest only a sub-group of people from the Cafe.

The last discussion is a good example of the advantages of having one
only list. Probably the discussion started with a message sent from outside
Andorra.
E.J. Jewell's comments have been useful and have been possible thanks
to receiving a message he would not have received had it existed two lists.
* Question:
Will a "digest" option help?
The digest option allows, but each subscriber has the choice, to
receive only one message containing all messages sent that day instead of
receiving all messages separately. (Unfortunately, our server does not yet
allow this option. However, if you see it as a very useful option, we will
try to find another server.)

Will two lists be enough? Or will we possibly need one list for
Andorrans, one for people from Catalonia and one for the rest of the World.
Each group has different interests in Andorra.
We will lose useful comments as cited before.
Many times in the Cafe people from outside Andorra have asked
things/comments to people from Andorra. Thus we need a list where both
groups can discuss.
It has a higher economic cost and need more effort (maintenance, etc).
It should be reminded that AndorraWeb does not produce any income :-)

The discussion topics will be more focussed and interesting to all
subscribers. It will be less "crowded".
