I don't know about Andorra. In France, November 1st - All Saints Day -
is a public holiday and clearly an occasion for honouring the dead. In
Perpignan the cemeteries will be open for longer hours than normal and
special busses are being provided to enable people to visit them. There
are celebrations (maybe not quite the right word) at the tombs of well
known personalities. It is not something which is celebrated in England
so I would be interested to know more about it and its origins.

November 11th is also a public holiday in France - for more obvious
reasons.

On a personal note, November 1st would have been my silver wedding had
my late wife survived long enough to see it.
