AI for SPARC:
- The SPARC IPS will not be available till January 2009. The plan
for AI is to continue to work on SPARC release and test the install
modules using the TD, TI, Orchestrator test programs. The AI prototype
still uses CPIO to install OpenSolaris and we will use AI prototype for
SPARC till IPS is available. However we won't release AI for SPARC in
November.
- Ginnie is testing install modules on SPARC with OpenSolaris port.
AI gate and putback:
- AI is scheduled to freeze the code by 10/13/08. The code review
will be done in stages
- The AI child gate will be used to keep the AI prototype up to date
since we will be testing individual modules using AI prototype.
- The putback will be on the main install gate. Each putback should
have a bug id associated with it and must have gone through a code review.
Microroot and netimage: Jan
- Jan is on vacation this week.
- The SPARC microroot is 60 MB and the netimage is 1.5 GB
- Jan will take a look and see why netimage is so big. We may not
address reducing the size of the image right now.
AI Engine: Alok
- Modified Orchestrator to use IPS (Transfer Module)
- Setting up local IPS for testing AI engine
- Since AI prototype uses old IPS gate, AI engine testing is blocked.
- Modified libtd to find target based on attributes
AI utilities:
- Sue has completed installadm wrapper
- Sundar will be working with Takeshi Asano for L10N/I18N
- Sundar is making progress with create-service to setup the AI on
the server side
AI web server: Clay
- Created AI web server and complete server side communication for
the HTTP server
- Will start working on publishing manifest part of the AI
QE:
- Draft of the test plan will be available by end of this week for review
- No testing is planned or done for AI prototype
Documentation: Barbara
- man pages are needed for AI tools, AI engine program and other user
programs
- Start working on OpenSolaris 11/08 documentation in September/October
XML content validation interface:
- Jack integrated XML validation interface to the main gate.
AI project related Issues:
1. The current version of TI cannot label SPARC disks.
2. SPARC archives are too big (1.5 GB) (Jan)
3. SPARC IPS will not be available till Jan 2009
4. Define AI cluster and push it to IPS (Jan)
5. AI localization (Sundar to work with Shinobu and Takeshi)
