Hi Pallavi,

could you please add release note for bug 1161
to OpenSolaris 2008.11 release notes ?

Thank you very much,
Jan

===================================================================================
1161 Solaris partition is not created on the largest usable chunks of
unallocated space

Title:
GUI installer shrinks Solaris partition to be created even if there is enough
available
space reported on Disk screen

Description:
When creating Solaris partition, installer can utilize only free space at the
end
of the disk after last primary partition. However, sum of total space available
including gaps between partitions is reported on Disk screen.
If user tries to create Solaris partition which is larger than amount of free
space
available at the end of the disk, warning message is displayed and size of
Solaris
partition is adjusted.

Indicator:
Warning message is displayed when 'Next' button is pushed on Disk screen
and Solaris partition is shrunk.

Title of warning message:

"Adjustment were made to the new partitions"

Workaround:
* Use Solaris fdisk(1M) tool or GParted tool to create Solaris2 partition. It
will
allow to utilize unallocated space between already defined partitions. Then
select
that partition as target for the installation on installer Disk screen.
