Hi,

The actual problem was due to unnecessary "backslash" in the command 
line given for SPARC install service under below procedure link.
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/docs/content/dev/AIinstall/advancedsetup.html

# installadm create-service -n /0906sparc/ \ -s 
//export/aiimages/osol-0906-ai-sparc.iso/ //export/aiserver/osol-0906-ai-sparc/

Without "\" installadm works fine & service started successfully.
