Hi, Thanx for the information.
Empirical data agrees. This leads to more questions... I created a manifest that attempts to create slice zero without specifying the target device. It accepts the manifest without complaint, but does not re-slice the disk it chose. Is this a bug? Or should I file an RFE? <ai_manifest name="ssqa-2009-06.111a.ai-d33a"> <ai_pkg_repo_default_authority>
</ai_pkg_repo_default_authority> <ai_pkg_repo_addl_authority>
</ai_pkg_repo_addl_authority> <ai_device_vtoc_slices> <slice_action>create</slice_action> <slice_number>0</slice_number> <slice_size>16383</slice_size> </ai_device_vtoc_slices> <ai_packages> <package_name>entire at 0.5.11,5.11-0.111:20090418T200225Z</package_name> <package_name>SUNWcsd</package_name> <package_name>SUNWcs</package_name> <package_name>babel_install</package_name> <package_name>SUNWiscsit</package_name> <package_name>SUNWiscsitgt</package_name> </ai_packages> <ai_auto_reboot>true</ai_auto_reboot> </ai_manifest> mary ding said the following on 05/13/09 14:45: > Jean: > > > > Jean McCormack wrote: >> Jon Aimone wrote: >>> Hi, >>> >>> I probably just missed it somewhere, but what is the default >>> behavior when no disks are listed in the manifests for the >>> auto-installer? >> It will use the manifest information to find the first matching disk. >> That means it will first check to see if there are any disk criteria >> specified in the manifest.
