After having success with Automated Installer in my lab at work, I decided to try to set it up on my laptop at home. I just have a linksys router. I'm curious if the resulting http image service can be feed to virt-manager to install a Xen guest on the same laptop. But when I run this command:
# installadm create-service -n 0906-111b-x86 -i 192.168.1.200 -c 10 -s /iso-images/osol-0906-111b-ai-x86.iso /aiserver/0906-111b-x86 I get back.... The IP address 24.28.193.9 is not assigned to any of the system's network interfaces. Automated Installations will not work with the current server network setup. Please check server network settings and try again. The installadm SMF service (svc:/system/install/server:default) is being taken offline. The installadm SMF service (svc:/system/install/server:default) is no longer online because the last install service has been disabled or deleted. Now when I traceroute www.google.com from my laptop, I can see my cable provider (ISP) uses a 24.x.x.x network. My network at home is the linksys standard 192.168.x.x. But I have no idea why the Automated Installer would be finding 24.x.x.x or wanting it to be assigned to one of my NIC ports? Thanks, Mike -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
