To clarify: this is the 0906 repo on a stick iso image, served up from a
local 0906 x86 machine. The first test was just serving up the repo off
the lofi-mounted iso image; for the second I used rsync to put it on a
hard disk to eliminate any lofi performance issues. (There aren't any
obvious problems with using the iso image via lofi.)

Anything else? Gigabit network; I don't have network contention;
everything's on the same subnet.
