Shawn, This is a true paradigm shift for Sun. As long as I can remember, one has always been able to select which packages to install at the time of installation when it came to Solaris. I know we are talking about OpenSolaris but still....
I'm not talking about Adobe Flash and the such. I am talking about installing Sun packages such as SUNWsmbskr, SUNWsmbr etc. So, in order to obtain these packages, I have to download a 7.2GB ISO image, install the whole repository and use the package installer. In reality I should be able to install the smb/server packages at install time. I guess I am old school. I like the Solaris install manager where you can choose the name of your system, assign the IP addess and pick which packages to install. Thanks for your time but I don't think we will agree. I know you... the developers have a very tough job, but don't forget about the end user, they know what they like and what they need. Again, thanks for your time.
