I did not replace the default.xml and just use the one from 
SUNWinstalladm-tools from here:

/net/indiana-build.central/extrapool/nightly_builds/100/slim_source/packages/i386/nightly-nd

I just did pkgrm SUNWinstalladm-tools and pkgadd the new one from here.I 
setup a new AI service, create an client with the new AI service and it 
works with default.

  I will try custom xml tomorrow and see whether I can get it to work.
