True, but if they use the same repo as the shipping bits are built from, 
use the same version of the tools used to build their image, and use the 
same manifest except for the mods to enable ssh, their bits will be very 
close to shipping bits.

Yes, there a small chance something can slip through the cracks if they 
change the manifest and rebuild their own version.  With care, however, 
the chance of problems seems very small and the gains worth it.

Perhaps most of the testing can be done using their own bits, and minor 
testing of a few key areas of the actual-delivered bits can supplement it.
