The file will go away when nwam phase 1 integrates, which should be some time this summer. Anything in it will be upgraded into the new nwam configuration repository; but after the upgrade happens, it won't be possible to set static ip addresses for nwam-managed interfaces in the llp file. > I ask because there is a bugzilla bug > 8346 AI should work with NWAM > which will require checking this file, but I don't want to base a fix on > something which will change. Hmm. I'm confused about what exactly needs to be accomplished, and under what circumstances this needs to work. If this needs to work under very general conditions, we would prefer not to have solutions that require the disabling of nwam. And if nwam is enabled, BJ's note about using the llp file is absolutely correct. If this only needs to work under very specific conditions, and all we need is a clear, easy way to get a static address configured, then Dave's suggestion of using network/physical:default and a hostname file is a fine suggestion. While the intention is to eventually eliminate that approach to network configuration, it will certainly be around longer than the /etc/nwam/llp file. I'm afraid I don't have enough context to give more of an answer than that; is that information helpful? -renee > > Thanks, > Jack > > P.S.
