I mean branding of the installer. If Sun's so hot at getting into the distro model and have people actually make distros, you have to be able to custom brand the installer. In the end, everything on the hobbyist/semideveloper level is about fame, and that begins at the first screen you'll see, being the installer. For instance, the Windows community site Neowin is also making a Linux distro called Shift. A lot of it is pride that it's actually a from top to bottom branded. Now imagine, if Solaris would come into play, if they can't smear their logos all over the installer to stop the distro claiming to be from Sun, they might consider that a disadvantage (home users are that shallow, it's a lot about visuals). -mg -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
