Perhaps, but that's something we should measure and see if it's worth 
it.  Thanks for the scripts; do you know offhand if these result in the 
session being registered properly in utmp?  That's critical for NWAM to 
function, and it wasn't quite right with the first set of Gnome 
packages.  Result there is that wireless never works because NWAM 
doesn't think it has a session it can use to communicate with the user.
