Where has this decision been made? Replacing the packaging system is a major change that has major ramifications across the whole Solaris/OpenSolaris community. It can't be slipped in through the back door. I think I have some idea of what IPS might be about, but - from the perspective of a community member not having access to what's going on behind Sun's closed doors - IPS is not yet available and hasn't been evaluated, so we don't even know in any detail what it is let alone whether it's suitable for the task. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/
