IMNSHO, this thread has completely started off on the wrong foot. The last decision to be made is which file system is separate. The first decision to be made is what file system policies should be used. Or, to look at this another way, having two separate file systems with the same policies is simply a waste of time and money.
ZFS policies include: 1. quota 2. reservation 3. copies (ditto blocks for data) 4. xattr 5. read only 6. compression 7. atime 8. exec 9. setuid 10. devices 11. recordsize 12.
