I'm glad to see your interest in building up a new SPARC-Distro.
There is some communication in the caiman archives. Otherwise two
excellent resources are Moinak Ghosh's new Blog site and Alexander
Eremin's Blog as well as www.milax.org .

That should provide you with a sufficient introduction.
If further questions show up, ask one of them, or this list again
(sporadically including myself [as private community member]).

I'm on the run right now ...

p.s. It is a fortunate coincidence, that I want to support exactly
what you want to drop, and vice versa: sun4u down to Ultra1.
