Hi Omkar, For the future, please send your questions about Open Solaris install technologies to caiman-discuss at opensolaris.org alias. Your questions will get more exposure, and more experts inside and outside of Sun will be able to provide advice.
As for your problem with booting the ISO image you created, I am not sure what's wrong. Looking at the detail log file you provided, I noticed many errors, most likely because you just modified the package list, and not the finalizer scripts, so, you might want to check those out to see whether any of them cause your problem. Looking at your serial console log, there's a lot of warnings about startup.c. That probably cause the hang, though I am not sure what caused it. --Karen Omkar Lagu wrote: > Hi karen,Hi jean, Hi jack, > > When I searched on the net for tutorial for creating a minimal > open-solaris version I came across alexandars blog > /http://alexeremin.blogspot.com/2008/12/creating-90mb-opensolaris-livecd-using.html > /I tried to create a minimal-opensolaris with packages on Alexanders > blog and suggested steps but I am facing some problems on booting up > the OS from > DC created ISO. > > I have attached 5 Files with the mail. > 1) detail-dc-logs > 2) serial console logs when booting the OS - opensolaris_boot_logs.txt > 3) Screen shot - of OS booting process is stuck > 4) XML file which details out the packages list, bootroot contents and > finaliser scripts. > 5) Modified Service profile XML > > > I used the standard slim_cd XML but changed couple of steps suggested > in Alexanders blog. > 1) Modified Service profile XML for Live CD is attached with the mail. > 2) set "system/coreadm enabled=false" in Modified Service profile XML > > Please reply back with what is going wrong and why my minimal > opensolaris is not booting up. > > Thanks, > Omkar Lagu > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ >
