Sounds like a reasonable enhancement request to me.  I had a look on
defect.opensolaris.org and there doesn't seem to be anything already
filed.

Go ahead and file this at defect.opensolaris.org under:

development -> installer -> gui

That's the best way to guarantee that someone triages issues.
