Hi,

The DC meeting for tomorrow, 12/11/2008 is canceled.
If you have an issue that you want to bring up for discussion,
please reply to this email.

Here's a status of where things are with the DC project.

1) DC SPARC support

* Got an image generated. We verified that it is able to boot from hard
disk.
* Sundar reported that he got a panic booting from the net on a T1000.
We resolved the issue by installing boot blocks on the bootroot of the
image he is trying to net boot.
* Jean sent out code review for the changed needed in DC to support building
a sparc AI image.

2) Glenn's work on virtual box images. Here's a recap sent by Glenn.

I've been able to recreate my research based on what I had before the
push to get 2008.11 out the door. I'm able to install packages to a
physical disk and then boot that physical disk inside of virtualbox.
The only caveat is that before I can boot the physical disk
successfully, I have to mount it under a liveCD and run:

devfsadm -C
devfsadm -c disk

If I don't do this, then the kernel panics because it says it can't read
the device label for the disk. Basically I believe this is caused
because the disk device is exposed differently under virtualbox than it
was when I installed to it on bare metal. It's equivalent to installing
on a server, then pulling the disk out of the machine and plugging it in
to a completely different machine.

So at this point, I'm researching why this is happening and if there's
anything I can do to get rid of the devfsadm workaround. Once I get
past this issue, I should be nearly home free. I need to talk to Sanjay
and possibly Chris Horne about this after I look up a few things first.

3) Karen is working on TOI materials for DC. The usage TOI is moved into
Sun wiki. Code level detail for the TOI will be added in the next few days.

4) Bugs:
- No new bugs are reported for the DC since our bug review last week
- Both Jean and Karen were focused on getting the SPARC image to work
so no progress has been made on assigned bugs.
