I have revised all the cases with your feedback. Would you please see my embedded comments below. B.T.W. the attached assertions document is the revised document based on the feedback from Sue, Frank and you. > > tp_partition_003: > If your partition numbers reflect the actual p# from the disk, then > the logical partitions need to start at p5. So you would have this: > p1 extended partition > p5 pcfs > p6 Solaris2 > p7 linux > p8 pcfs > p9 linux > I have revised this case according to the feedback from Frank and Sue. Anyway, in all the partition cases, logical partition now is begin from number 5 instead 4. > tp_partition_004: > similar to above. > > p1 pcfs > p2 Solaris2 > p3 linux > p4 extended > p5 pcfs > p6 linux > I have revised this case > tp_partition_006: > > p1 extended > p2 pcfs > p3 Solaris2 > p4 linux > > and then after the delete > > p1 unused > p2 unused > p3 Solaris2 > p4 unused > > I have revised this case > tp_partition_007: > > p1 extended > p2 Solaris2 > p3 unused > p4 unused > p5 pcfs > p6 linux > > after the delete > > p1 unused > p2 Solaris2 > p3 unused > p4 unused > I have revised this case > tp_partition_008: > Same change to numbering scheme. > When you delete logical partitions, the numbering collapses. > So in step 5 you should have: > p1 extended p2 unused p3 unused > p4 unused p5 Solaris2 For the "text installer", I use "F5" on "Select Partition" screen to change a partition type to "unused" to delete a partition. I think that is different with that deleting partition using format or "fdisk -D" command. If "text installer" changes a partition to "unused" just change the id of the partition to 0 or a number that represents "unused", the numbering will not collapse, if not the numbering will collapse. I need to ask Sue how she implements changing a partition to "unused". > tp_partition_009: > same change to the numbering scheme. > I have revised this case > tp_partition_010: > same change to numbering scheme. > > Why does p6 (really p7) show up in step 8? I need to ask Sue about it. Since if an unused partition that id of it is 0 or a number that represents "unused", unused lps can be created between lps. > > tp_partition_014: > same numbering scheme change > I have revised this case > tp_partition_015: > same numbering scheme change > I have revised this case > tp_partition_016: > same numbering scheme change > > I have revised this case > I'll let Sue and Keith comment on the actual text installer interface > validity. > Nice job though. > > Jean > > > Rokh Wang wrote: >> Hi, >> Would you please help review the partition and slice assertions for >> the text installer test suite. >> Thanks, >> -Rokh >> >> -------- Original Message -------- >> Subject: partition and slice assertions >> Date: Mon, 21 Sep 2009 17:48:58 +0800 >> From: Rokh Wang <rokh.wang at sun.com> >> To: Sue Sohn <Susan.Sohn at Sun.COM> >> CC: Keith Mitchell <Keith.Mitchell at Sun.COM>, Andre Molyneux >> <Andre.Molyneux at Sun.COM>, install team bj <installzone-bj at sun.com> >> References: <4AB73D82.1040601 at sun.com> >> >> >> >> Hello, >> The attachment is the partition and slice assertions for the text >> installer test suite. >> Would you please help review it. >> >> Thanks, >> -Rokh >> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> >> _______________________________________________ >> caiman-discuss mailing list >> caiman-discuss at opensolaris.org >> http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/caiman-discuss > -------------- next part -------------- An embedded and charset-unspecified text was scrubbed...
