The create-service will be setting up only dynamic addresses but
create-client can be
enhanced to support setting up permanent IP address with DHCP. Please
file a bug.

Can you check whether dns client service
(svc:/network/dns/client:default) is up on the install client?
The AI will be setting up /etc/resolv.conf and enable the dns client
service if it gets the DNS
information from DHCP.

Check the AI documentation FAQ #6 "How do I Locate the Default AI
Manifest for an Install Service?" to find the location of the default
manifest for a service.
To change the manifest, follow the example in the AI document
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/docs/content/2009.06/AIinstall/customai.html
under the section "How to Replace the Default AI Manifest".
