Hi Matt, the similar behavior was seen on some sun4v machines, but not hit yet on sun4u - see bug 14322 for more details.
Since you are able to import the pool, could you please check if boot_archive was generated ? # zpool import -f <pool_name> # beadm mount opensolaris /a # ls -l /a/platform/sun4u/ Could you please also attach install_log file located in /a/var/sadm/system/logs/install_log ?
