Hi Ethan and John,
I was talking with Ethan yesterday and he believed CherryPy to be
far slower than Apache and thus we needed Apache to speed it up. Last
year, I found this not all that true when I sent out my performance
findings to caiman-discuss, and this year it appears that the two are
still quite comparable (within a few percent for the solaris.zlib requests
and still under 1/10th of a second for default.xml).
I've updated my performance findings[1] for anyone who is
interested or sees any issues with my methodology.
It is interesting to note the various oscilatory patterns the
response times undergo. The data captured is as presented by the shell's
while loop providing the output from the returning httping's.
Thank you,
Clay
