Hi Sanjay,
As it is designed right now, checkpoints are run serially. With the
current design
of the engine, the ability to execute multiple checkpoints in parallel
can be added in the future without too much effort. At the mean time,
the "workaround" is to have a checkpoint that runs several
functionalities in separate threads simultaneously.
So if I understand this correctly, it has been thought of but not
necessarily designed ? The use cases that I am thinking of would be
for DC to create zones or perhaps beadm updating multiple zones
simultaneously.

Hi Sanjay,
I didn't think of it while I was doing the design, but Dave asked
something similar
in the design review, and I thought about it then. The way the engine
is designed right
now will not preclude that from being added in the future. See the last
section in the
following email for my answer to Dave on this:

Following up on the discussion for the engine, is there an
assumption that the engine will run the checkpoints serially ? Or
can an application register multiple checkpoints to be run in parallel.
