Hi Frank,

I have a working internal b147 AI server, successfully installing SPARC and X86 clients and using the internal repo to update clients from earlier builds. I am in the process of updating the repo and install services to b148.

I can customize the manifest to disable nwam and enable static networking during the install, and to configure root as a login account rather than a role, with my own password rather than the default.

So now I want to start adding the other customizations (which I can currently do with Jumpstart on Solaris 10).

I assume you are referring to 'finish scripting' here. If this is the case, then
you are likely looking for assembling and deploying one shot smf service
run during first boot. The idea how to accomplish this might be obtained
from following document:

http://wikis.sun.com/display/OpenSolarisInfo/Create+a+First+Boot+Service

Please see also below for parameters which are considered to be supported
in future in AI or SC manifests.

In no particular order, as part of the installation process, I would like to:

- customize auto_home, auto_direct and auto_master
- create a few default user accounts

While not available at this point, creating additional accounts is something which is considered as potential enhancement during design phase of System Configuration Service. That smf service takes care of configuring user/root accounts on installed system -
see chapter 10.2.1 in design spec:

Please feel free to file RFE in Bugster for this in solaris/install/autoinstall category.

- customize sshd_config
- customize /etc/default/login
- configure a default /etc/bashrc

- enable compression on root pool
- automatically mirror root disk

Last two not available yet, but being worked on:

Thank you,
Jan

Are any (or all) of these available options as part of a custom manifest yet?

Cheers
Frank
