Hi,
# installadm -n name -s src_imag /dst_path
It will suggest dhcp entries - good.
However it will also configure and enable tftp service and put files to
/tftpboot.
I think this should be optional especially in environments where tftp& dhcp
servers are on physically different servers and not even necessarily running
on Solaris.
I would suggest that by default installadm would configure only an apache
for a new service and suggest what should be put in dhcp and what files
should be put on tftp server. The files should be put into some dedicated
directory (additional command line option?).
You're welcome to file an RFE to this effect. We expect that DHCP
servers will often, if not usually, be separate from the AI server, but
having a separate tftp server seems far less common (and remember that
tftp is only used for x86, not SPARC). You're going to need the Solaris
AI server to be configured to provide manifests and profiles anyway, so
this seems relatively low value. Are there particular reasons you'd
want to do this?
