Hi everybody,
I am working on a customized x64 miniroot for install/network boot and
with it get
a dhcpagent error like this when the net-physical SMF service starts up:
# /sbin/dhcpagent -a -d 9
Mar 11 08:06:03 192.168.4.107 /sbin/dhcpagent[1394]: dhcp_adopt: cannot
fetch kernel cache
The DHCP interface gets DHCP-configured correctly though:
e1000g1: flags=1004843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,DHCP,IPv4> mtu
1500 index 5
inet 192.168.4.107 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.4.255
ether 0:14:4f:49:d6:1b
I looked far and wide, but cannot figure out why dhcp_adopt should not be
able to fetch its parameter from the kernel cache.
Any good ideas how to debug this further or what could be the cause of this?
Pretty unusual, that really shouldn't ever fail. I can only speculate
maybe there's an enumeration mismatch that's confusing the sysinfo()
call that dhcpagent uses to retrieve the cache.
