8. /etc/system
how can I customize /etc/system before the first boot? This is
similar to #2.
Most direct answer right now would be to republish the kernel package
with your own required /etc/system contents.
It should be possible to add one's own checkpoint to DC to inject a
different /etc/system into the save directory. So a new kernel package
shouldn't be needed.
