Guys,
Ok, I've got the thing installed, however, I can't find any
information about what exactly is required on the install service to
get that sc_manifest.xml thing going.
For all what it's worth, I don't use "installadm" at all so it would
be nice to know what:
installadm create-profile -f
<image_path>/auto_install/sc_profiles/sc_sample.xml -n
<service_name>
actually does. Note that I still install Solaris express 11 clients
with plain old Solaris 10 ;-)
Reason is that I want to port this installation tool to linux in the
near future. Also because it installs Windows, Linux and All Solaris
versions, -- upto build 164 obviously ;-) -
What is the filename it creates ?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Randall,
This scenario is noted as the first bullet under the "Version
compatibility issues" section in the Flag day page. The
installation is supported, but configuration will happen via
interactive prompts on first boot.

compatibility question, If you're running snv_151a, is there
support for 164 installs?

All,
It seems that with build 164, the embedded "service_bundle"
is no longer valid for the default.xml.
However, I cannot figure out (no examples in the
auto_install directory of the distribution), how to name or
add that information.
In build 163 I already noticed that part of the embedded
sc_manifest (like root user's password) didn't work anymore.
Resulting in a empty password for the
root user, and any other user you wanted to add. The only
workaround was to boot the installed system from the network
again, mount the root zfs and add a
password by hand, and reboot.
If there is some info for new builds and what changed,
please can someone point me to it?
Thanks
Paul
