Could I please get a code review for the following bugs:

to tell if a Partition was specified in the XML without a start_sector.
7043691 <http://monaco.us.oracle.com/detail.jsf?cr=7043691> TD returning
media type instead of device type for discvovered disks

I renamed the variable I added for CR 7043629 since it didn't just skip
adjusting boundaries. It actually does no validation at all.
