All, I have this strange problem, and don't know how to solve it. I use the /<167_distrib_dir>/auto_install/manifest/ai_manifest.xml but when I try to install I get a service failure for the auto-install. so I look for the /tmp/install_log file, well, not there. svcs -xv suggests to look at: /var/svc/log/application-auto-installer:default.log (output below) [ Jun 13 22:47:04 Rereading configuration. ] [ Jun 13 22:47:17 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/auto-installer"). ] Automated Installation started The progress of the Automated Installation will be output to the console Detailed logging is in the logfile at /system/volatile/install_log Press RETURN to get a login prompt at any time. Installer will be run in debug mode Usage: auto-install -m <manifest> [-c <profile/dir>] [-i - Stop installation before Target Instantiation | -I - Stop installation after Target Instantiation] [-n - Enable dry run mode] [-r <service_list_file>] [-Z <zone_pool_dataset] auto-install: error: no such option: -v Invalid or incompatible manifest provided Please refer to the /var/svc/log/application-auto-installer:default.log file for details [ Jun 13 22:47:20 Method "start" exited with status 95. ] What is this "auto-install: error: no such option: -v" error, where does it come from ? I initially thought, oh, maybe in my grub menu, so I took out the "-v" option, but that doesn't help. I don't think the "Invalid or incompatible manifest provided" is meaningful, since the 'auto-install' failed already. Thanks Paul |
