Subject: Using Automated Installer Without DHCP?

Hi IPS Experts,
This is an AI question so if I have the wrong address I apologize I have a quick question from a customer who is in the process of moving his environment to Solaris 11 (previously S10 w/ Jumpstart + WANboot).  He doesn't use DHCP in his environment at all and is trying to stay away from it.  It looks like Solaris 11 "requires" DHCP to identify new clients.  However the document below states the following: "Although DHCP is used to identify the system initially, it is also possible to use AI without having a DHCP infrastructure in place."

I can't find documentation that walks through setting up AI without DHCP.  Are you aware of any documentation or best practices for AI without DHCP?

Thanks,
Seth
