Hi!

Lately I've helped out a little by doing some translation work on your excellent cairo dock. And while doing so I've realized that there really is a sore need to make a few linguistic decisions on translating some of the expressions used in your context. The guidelines in the official guideline for Linux translators (generally a very good guide) are simply not suitable to translate some key expressions in Cairo.

In particular this applies - typically - to the very word "dock", a word often used in your applications hehe! A dock in your case is not what the general translation suggest, their suggestion applies more to a traditional system tray/toolbar. And it gets even worse when we start talking about sub-docks...!

Personally I believe the best norwegian translation would be the word "dokk", meaning a dock for ships. I've used that word consistently in my translations. However that does not help when translating sub-dock, a "sub-dokk" in Norwegian simply makes noe sense whatsoever...

However, I think someone somewhere should just make a decision on what translation to use, or else I'm afraid the norwegian version will be annoyingly inconsistent...!

Kind regards, Espen Krømke
