Hi again ^_^ I'll let Matttbe explain in details, but one of the main problems is the dependencies. the dependencies list of the Debian package is just ridiculous (see my previous mail for the exact list -- by the way for the 2.4 upower has been added). this is a very big problem, as many people won't install a program that will pull so many dependencies.
