This is the final release from the 2.4-beta2 version that is already in Oneiric There is no way to "patch the existing cairo-dock package with the most critical bug fixes".
Please reconsider your decision; because of all the recent changes in Ubuntu, we need this version to keep the program running well in Oneiric (I'm thinking of all the changes in the DBus interfaces for instance, Compiz, Messaging-Menu and others).
