So now, let's try to find out what's wrong: did you update the dock only or the whole Ubuntu ? in the 2nd case, we can't say for sure that the dock is faulty, it could very well be the drivers or X or even Compiz. Can you please try without OpenGL (cairo-dock -c) ? Can you also try with the default theme (cairo-dock -d ~/test) ? Do you have a way to reproduce the problem ? what kind of actions seem to trigger it ? (a new icon appear, a dialog, etc).
