I really don't see the link with the unity-bridge though :-/ It's probably a side effect.
If you put your dock at the bottom, is there a gap between the bottom screen border and the dock, or is the dock shifted to the right ? So is the gap only on the left side of the screen or between the actual side border and the dock ? Could you please try with the default theme ?
