Sorry for the delay.

I don't know... the bug comes either from the dock or from the indicator...
When the icon should be displayed or updated, the indicator sends a signal. The 
dock update the dock and create the icon only if it received the name of the 
icon or the pixbuf. Then the image is created (only if the name is correct or 
the pixbuf exists).

If there is something wrong, I guess it's because we receive a wrong
pixbuf (or the pixbuf is not created yet (when the signal is sent) or
it's empty).

Is it maybe possible to launch the dock with this command, reproduce the bug 
and then post the 'cd-log.txt' file which should be in your home directory 
after having quit the dock:
   $ cairo-dock -l debug

Bug description:
  Using Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 32bit, updated today, kernel 3.2.0-41.66
  Cairo dock 3.2.1 & Unity disabled, Canon MX328 printer

  Printer indicator didn't appear while printing. 
  I attach dmesg.log while I was printing..maybe it could help you analize.
