well, that's obviously not what you're expecting from a menu and I don't think the user of the toolkit (= us) should care about where the sub-menus will appear
there are 2 bugs here: the sub-menus not being placed on the correct side of the main menu (only the first time the sub-menu appears) and the sub-menus not expanding vertically as they should.
