You can simulate this error by inserting an eof into the file. Using vi you do ctrl-v ctrl-d (^v^d). Doing this for gcalctool I got the following:
warning : (/build/buildd/cairo-dock-3.3.99.beta1.2.really.3.3.2/src/gldit/cairo-dock-user-icon-manager.c:gldi_user_icons_new_from_directory:133) Unable to load a valid icon from '/home/brian/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/launchers/01gcalctool.desktop'; the file is either unreadable, unvalid or does not correspond to any installed program, and will be deleted the file gcalctool.desktop was deleted every time I started cairo-dock after inserting the eof anywhere in the file. Is the .desktop file based on a template? Could it have been corrupted and somehow repaired or something else writing an eof? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Cairo- Dock Devs, which is subscribed to Cairo-Dock Core. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1302317 Title: new launcher disappears after reboot Status in Cairo-Dock : Core: Incomplete Bug description: cairo dock version: 3.3.2 distro: linux mint petra desktop env: Cinnamon windowmanager: Mutter (Muffin) used with: openGl graphics card: VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09) Bug description: I launch Firefox and immediately turn it into a launcher.
