Dear k, The Microsoft Word binary DOC format is crazy. Reading it using PHP is somewhat of a task. But your question does not formulate anything about what you want to do with the file or its contents, and how you want it done (see Resources below).
First off, what platform are you on? If Windows, then the access to the operating system can help you. If not, then you should head over to PEAR: http://pear.php.net/ - the closest thing I came with a 10 second search (which *you* could've done!) is: http://pear.php.net/package/OLE which promises to read and write OLE objects. Now, some complaints. You fired off this question in the following fora, without waiting for any answer: how to read .doc files pl.comp.lang.php 82 minutes ago While reading .doc files alt.comp.lang.php 85 minutes ago while reading .doc files Cake PHP 87 minutes ago While Reading .doc files xmission.general 2 hours ago While Reading .doc files it.comp.www.php 2 hours ago While reading .doc files alt.comp.lang.php Wow. This Group is concerned with CakePHP, a web development framework, and is not the right place to ask for help about proprietary binary file formats. Even if you want to access them using PHP. Third, to evolve your way of getting help online, please partake of these great resources: RESOURCES: * http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html * http://www.slash7.com/pages/vampires kind regards, Olle --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
